This custom project of a climbing frame in Surrey is based on a combination of our Forest mega 2 storey playhouse and our Forest Combo climbing frame. The finished result is a really good example of how we can customise, adapt and design from scratch to provide amazing playcentres that fit perfectly with their surroundings and manage to include a huge range of activities and interesting features to keep this climbing frame in Surrey in use for years and years.
The customer in this case already had a dedicated play area in her garden which had previously been home to another play structure. The space was quite awkward, sloping and bounded by large laurel hedges. So that the climbing frame fitted in with the rest of the garden design scheme she wanted the roof to have slates, and to be painted the same colour as the main house. The colour was of course no problem as we always ask the customer to choose this, either from the paint charts we provide or to provide a reference we can use to source the colour from our supplier. We were also able to find reconstituted synthetic slates which were a very close match to the customers roofing slates.
The Forest Combo on which the play centre is based is usually installed in a straight line. This would not have worked in this situation, so we adapted the raised deck of the main platform with an additional section so it all worked on an angle.
The Forest mega is a 2 storey playhouse climbing frame in the playways range, and the lower deck and den below were features that we included in the the climbing frame. So the children are able to go up a ladder from the lower deck, through a hatch and into the house above.
This installation included a slide, a scramble net, monkey bars, a fireman’s pole and a climbing wall so there is endless activity for the children. The main platform and the tower are connected by a chain link clatter bridge.
