Jason and Tom head to Majorca to install a Playways climbing frame.
The last few weeks have been full of anticipation, particularly for intrepid Jason and Tom, picked to install a custom Playcentre near Soller in Western Majorca.
We’ve been offshore to install our playhouse climbing frames before, to the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands, but Majorca was definitely a step on again, with the potential for all sorts of mishaps and pitfalls to occur. Nevertheless with careful planning we felt confident in our abilities to make this be a success.
Unlike previous trips overseas we could not take the playcentre in our van. Instead we had to create a palette secure enough and large for all the elements as well as tools to fit in. Needless to say the contents were checked and triple checked before the collection date. Once departed we were kept updated by the carriers as it travelled to Barcelona and then on to Majorca.
Tom and Jason flew from Bristol to Palma and then drove to meet the playcentre at the customers residence.
The climbing frame takes shape amongst the olive trees
Despite the fact that this installation was taking place thousands of miles from base careful planning ensured that it all went very well and the climbing frame grew amongst the olive grove just as envisaged.
The process is the same wherever we are, we lay out the elements to be assembled, and then start assembling and positioning the platforms and towers.
As we progress the roofs are added, as well as the play activities.
Here, the young adventurers begin to explore their new playground. A tentative investigaton at first, but it won’t be long before they’ve truly claimed it as their own.
In this glorious Mediterranean setting the playcentre nestles happily in the olive trees, which provide welcome shade even in the middle of the day, making the climbing frame useable all day long.
We spent a long time designing and planning the layout of this project. We were able to intertwine the climbing frame amongst the olive trees. This meant we didn’t need to prune or trim the trees at all.
It’s great to see the the playcentre in action. Looking fantastic and with plenty of fun and activity to keep its new adventurers busy for years to come.
And finally, here are some kind words from the customer,
“Thank you so much, we are absolutely delighted with how it’s turned out, it is better than we imagined! Tom and Jason were brilliant. Really nice, friendly, hardworking and professional.”
